The Central Statistics Agency (Badan Pusat Statistik or “BPS”) has issued the new Indonesia Standard Business Classification (KBLI 2025).
Following the recent amendments to Law No. 4 of 2009 on Mineral and Coal Mining and Government Regulation No. 96 of 2021 on the Implementation of Mineral and Coal Mining Activities, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources has issued the mandated implementing regulation.
As part of regulatory simplification efforts and to promote ease of doing business in Indonesia, the Government of Indonesia, through the Ministry of Trade ("MOT"), has taken a significant step in reforming the import regulation by issuing MOT Regulation No. 16 of 2025 on Import Policies and Provisions, as amended by MOT Regulation No. 37 of 2025.
Following the issuance of Government Regulation No. 28 of 2025 on the Implementation of Risk-Based Business Licensing, the Minister of Investment and Downstream Industry/BKPM has finally issued the mandated implementing regulation, which revokes the prior BKPM regulations from 2021.
The Government of Indonesia has officially enacted a new regulation on waste-to-energy earlier this month. This regulation establishes a new legal framework for urban waste management through waste-to-renewable energy processing and introduces several structural changes to the national approach.
